90th anniversary of rhythmic gymnastics: celebration festival at the RUSSIA EXPO
A festival dedicated to the 90th anniversary of rhythmic gymnastics was launched at the RUSSIA EXPO. The festive program in Pavilion C at the exposition of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation "Sport for Everyone" includes thematic lectures, meetings with female athletes and other activities.
The series of events at the Exposition opens a large program timed to the anniversary of the sport, said Irina Viner, president of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and head coach of the Russian national team.
"I want to thank everyone who participated in the organization of this program and will also take part in all the events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of rhythmic gymnastics. We will have a lot of them - concerts, expositions, lectures, seminars. At the end of the year we will definitely invite everyone to a magnificent concert at the Rhythmic Gymnastics Palace in Luzhniki. There we will see all our stars, the history of sport. I thank everyone who dedicates their lives to educating children in sport," said Irina Viner.
The lectures were delivered by Olympic champions Evgenia Kanaeva and Anastasia Tatareva, world champions Angelina Shkatova and Olga Kapranova, as well as the Chairman of the Public Council at the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Gymnastics at the P.F. Lesgaft National State University, St. Petersburg, President of the Student Club League in Rhythmic Gymnastics of the Association of Rhythmic Gymnastics Sports Clubs Raisa Terekhina. At the end there was an autograph session with the gymnasts, who told about the challenges they faced in the current conditions, as well as evaluated the new formats and trends in competitions.
The festive program was organized by the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Health (St. Petersburg), the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, and the Association of Rhythmic Gymnastics Sports Clubs.
In 2018, Russia became the country that hosted the best FIFA World Cup in history — according to the organisers themselves and fans from around the world.
More than one hundred representatives from 48 countries gathered in Moscow, at the National Centre RUSSIA, for the Open Dialogue "The Future of the World.
Young tour guides participated in another session of the School of Young Tour Guides.
