Alexei Chesnakov invites visitors to attend the Literary Club "What to Read?! Meanings" meeting

The Literary Club "What to Read?! Meanings" will hold a meeting titled "New Textbooks for Children and Adults: The Path to the Future" at 19:00 on 24 September at the National Centre RUSSIA. Experts will discuss whether textbooks can be interesting and useful not only for schoolchildren and why they remain highly important in the digital age.

The guests of the Literary Club will be Olga Koludarova, Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, and Yegor Kholmogorov, essayist, member of the Union of Writers of Russia and member of the team of authors of the Social Studies textbook. Together with the club's host, political analyst and essayist Alexei Chesnakov, the experts will discuss how the role of educational literature is changing in modern education and why its development could become one of the key national projects.

"As parents, we should know which books our children study from. But there is another important point: each of us continues learning throughout our lives. The textbooks we used at school and university become outdated over time, while new literature helps us better understand how the Universe, science, society, physics and chemistry work. This knowledge is essential both for formal education and self-education," Alexei Chesnakov said.

The meeting will offer an opportunity to look at textbooks from a new perspective — not only as compulsory books for the school curriculum, but also as a source of up-to-date knowledge, a basis for family discussions and a tool for lifelong development.
