Anna Scherbakova gave an author’s tour at the RUSSIA EXPO
Olympic figure skating champion Anna Scherbakova gave an author’s tour for schoolchildren and students in Pavilion C of the Russian Ministry of Sport exposition "Sport for Everyone". The participants learned about the brightest achievements of Russian figure skaters and tested various sports activities with the help of VR-glasses and virtual reality helmets.
Anna Scherbakova shared her impressions about her participation and victory at the Beijing Olympics, and also talked about her path in figure skating.
"I like doing projects with the "Knowledge" Society — they are always very interesting. I have a lot to tell, and this is a great opportunity to communicate with the kids, share some of my experience, maybe even learn something for myself. Today we will visit the exposition "Sport for Everyone". This is a very appropriate name, because there really should be sport in a person’s life: everyone can find a physical activity that will be to their liking and will be beneficial for their health", — emphasized the Olympic champion.
During the tour, schoolchildren and students were told about the sports medicine center of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia and support for the health of Russian athletes. The participants were examined using sports-medical equipment. Part of the tour was devoted to the GTO system ("Ready for Labour and Defence"). Anna Scherbakova reminded that holders of GTO badges get additional points when entering Russian universities, technical schools and colleges.
In the sports and gaming zone the famous figure skater together with the tour participants plunged into the world of sports entertainment with the help of VR-glasses and virtual reality helmets. And at the stand of the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation the children saw valuable historical exhibits. Among them were a diploma of the winner of the first Spartakiade in 1928, a ticket from the football match "Chelsea — Dinamo", which took place in November 1945 and other things. The excursion ended with a small quiz. Anna Scherbakova presented the winner with a branded sweatshirt and a shopper from the Russian Society "Knowledge".
The tour was held within the framework of the educational program "Excursion with Knowledge". It was developed by the Russian Society "Knowledge" for the International RUSSIA EXPO.
