Artyom Zhoga explores the exposition of the National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra
At the 5th
Forum of volunteers and civic activists "Patriots of the Urals", the
Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Ural Federal
District, Artyom Zhoga, explored the exposition space of the National Centre
RUSSIA. Together with the head of the region, Ruslan Kukharuk, he visited the
exposition "To See Yugra Is to Fall in Love with Russia!"
"We
opened quite recently, but we are already seeing a strong response from
visitors. People come with their families, bring their children, and return
with friends. In the coming days — I expect this week or early next — we will
reach 20,000 visitors, even though we opened just over three months ago,"
said the Head of the National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra, Anton Pilipas.
The tour for the Plenipotentiary Representative was led by guide Ivan Akinshin, as well as Arina and Lev — students of the Young Guides School of the National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra. Together, they guided Artyom Zhoga through the key halls of the exposition, presenting the history of the region’s development, its natural resources, and its modern achievements.
In the hall
"Pride Through Time", Ivan Akinshin drew attention to the region’s
interactive map: "Yugra is not just the oil heart of the country. We rank
first in Russia in electricity generation — more than 84 billion kilowatt-hours
per year. To understand the scale: this volume would be enough to power the
entire country for nearly a month. Four of the largest power plants operate
here, with a combined capacity of 12.4 gigawatts, comparable to Spain’s
electricity consumption during peak hours."
The guests
then visited the hall "Hearth of Legends", where a traditional
dwelling of the Khanty and Mansi peoples — a chum — has been recreated.
Representatives of the indigenous peoples of the North welcomed the
Plenipotentiary Representative in traditional national costumes. They
introduced Artyom Zhoga to the distinctive culture of the Ob Ugrians, shared
ancient legends about the creation of the world, and spoke about the sacred
significance of fire and traditional rituals.
The National
Centre RUSSIA in Yugra opened at the end of last year by order of the President
of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. Its mission is to preserve cultural
heritage, showcase the country’s achievements, and promote national interests.
The centre presents the region’s economic and social projects, as well as its
cultural and natural features.
As part of the #LetterToAHero campaign letters addressed to participants of the special military operation were handed over.
At the National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra, the exposition "Soulful Defence Industry" has opened as part of the 5th Forum "Patriots of the Urals".
