Architectural adventure awaits young explorers at the National Centre RUSSIA

Architectural adventure awaits young explorers at the National Centre RUSSIA
06.29.2025

On July 8 at the National Centre RUSSIA, a family tour with quiz elements "Architecture — the World We Live in" will take place through "The Birth of Scale" exposition. The event is designed for children aged 7 and above and their parents.

Participants can expect immersion into the world of Russian architectural tradition. Instead of a standard lecture, the organisers have prepared interactive tasks for guests that will help children understand and feel the strength and beauty of Russian architecture.

During the hour-long journey, guests will become acquainted with the traditions of wooden architecture in Rus, learn the secrets of constructing defensive structures and try their hand at being ancient craftsmen. Of particular interest is the practical part — participants will learn to measure in old-fashioned spans, which will allow them to look at architectural proportions in a new way.

The tour will reveal the secrets of unique floating vessels that our ancestors built. Children will learn what a Belyana is — a giant wooden ship — and why Moscow became a city of rings. Special attention will be paid to the "without a single nail" construction technology — the amazing skill of Russian carpenters.

In 60 minutes of active journey, participants will receive plenty of impressions and new knowledge. The event is also suitable for organised groups and school classes. Registration is open for everyone wishing to become acquainted with our country's architectural legacy in an unusual format. All details are available on the National Centre RUSSIA website in the "Events" section.
