The assortment of the Department Store at the National Centre RUSSIA delighted the first visitors
The first guests of the National Centre RUSSIA highly appreciated the Department Store space — an extension of the eponymous trade and exposition platform of the International RUSSIA EXPO. This unique place offers the most vibrant goods that embody the image and uniqueness of Russia’s regions. A total of 120 manufacturers were invited to participate in the project, and thanks to a seasonal rotation, the Department Store will feature new artisans and their products every season.
The Department Store’s shelves are already filled with an abundance of lace collars, tablecloths, and napkins from all over Russia; brooches, necklaces, earrings, bags, and other accessories; gingerbread, marshmallows, pastila, chocolates, and other sweets; as well as handmade ceramics and cosmetics with natural ingredients.
Handmade toys draw special attention from visitors, including guardian dolls from the Volgograd region, Dymkovo toys from Kirov, ethnic-style matryoshka dolls from Buryatia, Ossetian handmade dolls, Kozhlya toys from Kursk, Romanov dolls from the Lipetsk region, traditional cotton figures representing the indigenous people of Yamal, and many other unique items.
The assortment at the Department Store continues to grow. On November 21, a New Year’s Market will open here. Festive goods, that will immerse guests of the National Centre RUSSIA into the atmosphere of a magical pre-holiday fairytale, will also be sourced from all across the country.
The Department Store project is a new format for presenting and selling Russian goods gathered in one place on a modern platform. Around 100 types of folk art and handicraft items from across the country were showcased at the Exposition. The National Centre RUSSIA continues to support artisans — the carriers of Russia’s unique and diverse cultural identity — and promotes regional brands, the products of creative industries.
The 650 brands presented at the Department Store during the RUSSIA EXPO remain Project partners. Their unique products can be found in the Department Store’s online catalog on the official website of the National Centre RUSSIA.
The National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on a permanent basis. Federal government bodies, state companies, corporations, and regions take part in the Centre’s work.
The first event at the National Centre RUSSIA was the International Symposium "Inventing the Future," which welcomed more than 6,000 guests from 101 countries.
