"The number one dish" of Soviet snack bars: Crimean сhebureki at the National Centre RUSSIA
Visitors to the National Centre RUSSIA can explore the rich culinary legacy of all regions of the country. The exposition "Journey Across Russia" welcomes guests with a gastronomic space "Journey Across Russia. Food," which consists of four thematic zones — "South," "North," "West," and "East." In the latter, Crimean chebureki are prominently featured, beloved by many.
"Crimean chebureki are crescent-shaped pastries made of unleavened dough, filled with minced meat, onions, and spices. Instead of one large cheburek, in the 'South' zone, we offer two small Crimean chebureki with lamb or beef, while the 'East' prepares Far Eastern chebureki with commander squid, chinook salmon, and cod," said the curator of the project "Journey Across Russia. Food," Yekaterina Shapovalova.
In addition to chebureki, the "East" gastronomic zone offers a variety of dishes, including a salad of kelp with commander squid, tala made from nelma, Siberian salted milk mushrooms with pickled red onions, sour cream, and fried potatoes, saikas with seafood sauces, and much more. Among hot dishes, the minced sockeye salmon cutlet with mashed potato filling, the Kamchatka crab claw in creamy sauce, and an assortment of pelmeni are particularly popular. The local Far Eastern ukha fish soup is a true encyclopedia of the region's unique seafood.
The Gastronomic Rows at the National Centre RUSSIA are open every day except Monday, from 10:00 to 21:00.
The final stage of the competition and the awarding of the winners of the State Museum and Exposition Centre ROSIZO "Forma-Art" Prize will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 16 April.
