Over 300 letters to the front written by visitors of the National Centre RUSSIA as the new stage of the #LETTERTOAHERO campaign begins
On National Unity Day, the National Centre RUSSIA launched a new stage of the #LETTERTOAHERO campaign. On its very first day, guests of the gala concert of the All-Russian project "Musical Map of Russia", participants of the "Peoples of Russia and the CIS" International Festival, employees of the National Centre RUSSIA, and volunteers of the campaign wrote over 300 heartfelt messages to servicemen on the front line.
"The #LETTERTOAHERO campaign is an important humanitarian initiative, because these letters carry not just words, but warmth and a piece of the authors’ souls. Each message is a symbol of unity, pride, and our shared gratitude to the defenders. The triangular shape, reminiscent of the 'front-line' letters of the Great Patriotic War, is a tribute to historical memory that connects generations. We invite everyone to join this important mission," said Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA Anastasia Zvyagina.
The #LETTERTOAHERO campaign is organised by the National Centre RUSSIA in cooperation with the International Festival "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes" and was first held in 2025 on Defender of the Fatherland Day. Over three months, visitors to expositions and events at the National Centre RUSSIA wrote more than 4,500 letters in support of military personnel.
Specially designed letter forms allow everyone to write a few lines from the heart and then fold the paper into a triangle, echoing wartime field letters. The main goal of the initiative is to boost the morale of servicemen, remind them of their connection with those at home, and convey words of gratitude from their compatriots.
"I hope that our letters will make the heroes feel happier, warmer, and more at ease. Knowing that we support them, they will defend our homeland with renewed strength so that we always have peaceful skies above our heads," said a young participant of the campaign, Muscovite Darya Yermolayeva.
These touching messages from people across the country embody national pride, civic solidarity, and respect for the heroism of today’s defenders.
"These letters are so important to make sure our heroes never lose heart and always know that children and their loved ones care for them. I hope they will read every letter and, perhaps, feel truly happy," added one of the authors, Kira Karnaushkina.
Participants of the campaign place their letters in a special container. As it fills up, volunteers of the National Centre RUSSIA hand the letters over to the RT.Doc team, which delivers them to the front through RT’s documentary filmmakers and war correspondents.
The #LETTERTOAHERO campaign will continue daily in the gastronomic zone and the foyer of the concert hall at the National Centre RUSSIA.
