Brands reflecting the richness of Russian wedding culture: new exposition at the RUSSIA EXPO
On May 14,
a new exposition timed to coincide with the All-Russian Wedding Festival will
open at the catwalk "Fashion Brands of Russia. Evolution of Russian Style" in
Pavilion No. 75.
More than
30 brands reflecting the richness of Russian wedding culture from folk
traditions and local brands to the most fashionable catwalk collections will be
presented to the guests. The brands participating in the exposition include:
Veniz Lace; Yeletsk Lace; Masterpeace; Technorus; Lika Saralp; Izolda
Gogichaeva; Ruzanna Paranuk; Munajat Hasanova; ANN Polyakova; OSL; The Wedding
Atelier; And the brand; Vassa&CO; Belfaso; Z'KOD Studio; Milva; JM Studio;
Lezardi; Ju Ju.
One of the
most significant blocks of the installation is the collaboration with the
project of actress and producer Sofya Ernst "Getting Married". A documentary
series on Channel One has been produced, which reveals the wedding traditions
of our ancestors and how they are inherited by young families in the XXI
century. Sofya Ernst also organized the exposition "Russian Wedding" at the
Russian Museum of Decorative Arts (VMDI), which is dedicated to rethinking
ancient wedding traditions.
This block
includes costumes depicting wedding traditions of such regions as the
Stavropol, Kaluga, Vologda, Ryazan regions, the Chuvash Republic, the Tver
region, the Republic of Dagestan, the Republic of Karelia, the Lipetsk region,
and the Udmurt Republic.
The main
part of the installation is devoted to the presentation of various versions of
Russian wedding costume. The guests will also be presented wedding looks with a
selection of dresses with elements of embroidery and Orthodox traditions and
will be told about the wedding culture of the Caucasus. Authentic wedding looks
from the republics of Adygea, Dagestan, North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria will
be demonstrated.
Also, at
the exposition you can see couture wedding brands. Such as Yanina, Edem
Couture, BELFASO and accessory brands that perfectly complement any wedding
image - LIA GUREEVA, Panfil, Yeletsk Lace and Laroom.
All-Russian
Wedding Festival is held in Russia for the first time. Until May 19, more than
200 couples from all federal districts of the country will get married at the
Exposition, and there will be thematic days devoted to the stages of the
wedding rite and various customs. Each of them will be linked to the traditions
of Russia's regions and peoples.
