The future of the country’s regions in one space: the exposition "Platform of the Future" opened at the National Centre RUSSIA
The new exposition "Region-2030. The Platform of the
Future" starts at the National Centre RUSSIA. It will showcase strategic
projects and prospects for the development of the country's regions, as well as
advanced developments and innovative products from Russian export companies.
The opening ceremony was attended by Sergei Kiriyenko, First
Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian
Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the National Centre RUSSIA;
Veronika Nikishina, Director General of the Russian Export Centre, JSC;
Alexander Gusev, Governor of the Voronezh Region, and Irina Gekht, Acting
Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Area. The expositions will open to the public
on 2 September.
The first seven regions on display are the Republic of
Dagestan, the Amur, Voronezh, Chelyabinsk and Tula Regions, the Jewish
Autonomous region and the Nenets Autonomous area. Each of them has prepared a
stand combining modern multimedia technologies with authentic historical artifacts.
"This task was set by Russian President Vladimir
Vladimirovich Putin: to give each region an opportunity to tell not only about
its history and present days, but also to show the direction of its future
development. Each region of our country has something that its inhabitants are
rightfully proud of – something that can surprise, amaze and inspire. And it is
especially important to share this with the whole country," said Sergei
Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of
the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the National
Centre RUSSIA.
As part of the opening of the exposition "Region-2030.
The Platform of the Future" at the National Centre RUSSIA, a start was
also given to an exposition of export potential.
"The "Made in Russia" exposition is not just
a demonstration of our exporters' products. Here, visitors will be able to
grasp an idea of how modern technologies are organically intertwined with a
distinctive national culture. We are creating a space where everyone can see
how innovations and traditions work together, shaping the image of modern
Russia as a technologically advanced country with a rich cultural
heritage," Veronika Nikishina, Director General of Russian Export Centre,
JSC, said in her speech.
Governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev, in turn,
thanked the organizers of the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the
Future" for the opportunity to present the regions, their achievements and
projects: "This exposition gives us a chance to confirm that the regions
of the Russian Federation are looking to the future, believe in great Russia
and sincerely love their Homeland."
The decision that each region will demonstrate itself for a
whole week is not an easy task, admitted Irina Gekht, Acting Governor of the
Nenets Autonomous area. At the same time, she is sure that this way it is
possible to show the great potential that is concentrated in the regions of
Russia.
"It takes a lot of effort to put up, implement and
showcase such a programme. It is very important for our children to see it, to
see what kind of culture, what traditions, what opportunities there are in each
region and, of course, in the Nenets Autonomous area. I am sure that the
exposition "Region-2030. The Platform of the Future" is really a look
into the future, as long as thousands of people from all over the country will
see it," Irina Gekht said.
Key elements of the exposition "Region-2030. The
Platform of the Future" are the interactive areas where visitors can take
a virtual tour of cities, get acquainted with the main achievements and
professions of the future, try themselves as an engineer, an athlete or a
roboticist, swim across a virtual river, and even launch a rocket from a
cosmodrome.
The display will feature a week of each of the regions
represented. Presentations, workshops, performances by creative groups, and
gastronomic performances await the guests. Over the period from 2 September to
7 September, the events at the National Centre RUSSIA will be dedicated to the
Republic of Dagestan.
