The future of superfoods and the wild-harvest industry discussed at the National Centre RUSSIA
The 2nd International Forum of Wild-Harvest Processors and Superfood Producers has concluded at the National Centre RUSSIA, focusing on traditions, personalisation and active longevity. The event brought together producers and experts in the field of natural products. During the forum, scientists and representatives of the agricultural sector discussed a wide range of topics — from the harvesting of pine nuts and forest berries to production technologies and the promotion of healthy products. The forum was dedicated to shaping the ideology of nutrition for the future.
"For a person who wants to live a long life, there are no sanctions or borders. Russia, with its unique natural capital and preserved traditions of its peoples, is becoming an attractive territory for the production of natural superfoods," said Yuri Rudakov, President of the Union of Wild-Harvest Processors "National Ecoresource".
The forum discussions focused on the development of the superfood and wild-harvest industries. Participants explored how nutrition affects health and the duration of active life, and how these products can become part of the economy of the future. Particular attention was given to international cooperation, the growth of production and exports of raw materials, and the introduction of personalised nutrition using modern technologies. Experts also examined new formats for sales and promotion, the role of marketplaces and bloggers, as well as the use of superfoods in medicine and rehabilitation.
During the panel discussions of the 2nd International Forum of Wild-Harvest Processors and Superfood Producers, participants agreed that the global demand for active longevity and health is becoming one of the key drivers of the economy. Nutrition is increasingly viewed not merely as a means of satisfying hunger, but as a tool for managing both the physical and mental condition of a person.
Representatives of government and business confirmed their readiness to jointly develop infrastructure for the harvesting, deep processing and export of wild-harvest resources, as well as to introduce personalised healthy nutrition programmes.
In addition, a long-term strategy for the development of the sector was presented during the forum. Its goal is to establish by 2060 a scientific and industrial base capable of predicting life expectancy for the generation to be born in the next ten years. The approach is based on integrating data from genomics, neurophysiology, IT solutions and artificial intelligence to create personalised diets that support both physical and mental health.
Following the forum, a consolidated report will be prepared, including best regional practices, analytical findings and participants’ proposals. The document will be submitted for consideration to the Presidential Executive Office of Russia, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council, the State Duma, ministries and development institutions.
The forum was organised by the Union of Wild-Harvest Processors "National Ecoresource". The event was held with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council, the State Duma, relevant ministries, development institutions and the Russian Export Centre.
