Gymnast, two-time Olympic champion in uneven bars, nine-time world champion, Merited Master of Sports of Russia Svetlana Khorkina met with visitors of the RUSSIA EXPO.

Svetlana Khorkina spoke about opportunities for the development of mass sports. According to the Olympic champion, in addition to practice, athletes should master theoretical material to achieve high results. Svetlana Khorkina noted that not only the coaching staff and infrastructure, but also the atmosphere surrounding the athlete also play a big role in achieving results.

"If there are lazy people in the gym - and they just want to come to work to tick a box, or on the contrary everyone is focused on the result and work hard - then, of course, it is tough in such a team, but it gives motivation and pushes forward all the time, because a leader is born in competition," Svetlana Khorkina emphasized.

Now there are great opportunities for the development of mass sports - in addition to building the necessary facilities, more and more people are beginning to pay attention to a healthy lifestyle, said the gymnast.

"Being healthy today is in trend. There are no identical people, everyone is individual, and the approach to choose how they lead a healthy lifestyle is different for everyone. Someone jogs in parks, someone does sports walking, someone dances - everyone has their own variations, this is also important," concluded Svetlana Khorkina.

The RUSSIA EXPO is open from Tuesday through Sunday, Monday is a technical day. The best time to visit the expositions is in the mornings and weekdays, but the RUSSIA EXPO is open to everyone on weekends as well. The expositions of 89 regions of Russia, leading federal departments, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. All expositions and events are free of charge.
