Karina Cherevan, sambo World Cup champion and ambassador of the Exposition's sport program, held the regular sports warm-up of the "Marathon of Exercises" by the Healthy Fatherland movement at the RUSSIA EXPO.

The Astrakhan, Belgorod and Leningrad regions joined the exercise via video link.

Speaking about how to overcome difficulties in achieving sports records, the champion noted that the main one is laziness. It is important to defeat it in oneself, and then any achievements will be within one's reach.

Karina Cherevan is a Merited Master of Sport of Russia in sambo, world champion, winner of the World and European Cup, silver medalist of the first All-Russian tournament in combat sambo among women. She is also a Master of Sport of Russia in judo and jiu-jitsu.

Nina Ivashkina, Minister of Physical Education and Sport of the Astrakhan region, noted during the teleconference that hundreds of people gathered in the center of Astrakhan, including Olympic champions: "The Astrakhan region is very happy to join this amazing marathon of exercises at the RUSSIA EXPO. I would like to wish everyone a good mood, and for sport and physical culture to be the norm of our lives always, not just on occasion."

The training session was the fourth in the framework of the "Marathon of Exercises at the RUSSIA EXPO" - a series of public events organized jointly with the All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Fatherland". It was opened by an exercise on April 20, conducted by Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny. It became the largest mass exercise in Russia - 5,773 people performed exercises at the same time. On May 4, the training session was held by Russian professional boxer, Merited Master of Sport of Russia, current WBA Gold champion Fedor Chudinov. Russian and world sports stars hold warm-up sessions for the guests of the Exposition every Saturday on the Main Stage.

At the end of the workout, Karina Cherevan was presented with a special limited edition Sports Russia medal. Any visitor of the Exposition can get such an award. To do this, you need to come to the exercise sessions, communicate with the athletes and take autographs. The guests who collected eight different autographs will receive their own Sports Russia medal on July 6. The participants of the exercises also got Karina's autograph, took selfies with her and received branded bracelets of the Healthy Fatherland movement.
