Digital front of the "silver" generation: the final of the XV All-Russian Computer All-around Championship among pensioners will be held in the National Centre RUSSIA

The final of the anniversary XV All-Russian Computer All-Around Championship among Pensioners will be held on June 21 at the National Centre RUSSIA. The championship brought together more than 10,000 participants from different regions of the country. More than 180 winners of regional stages from 75 regions of the Russian Federation, including new regions, as well as compatriots from 12 countries, will take part in the final. A special role is assigned to new participants — 35 veterans of military operations and the Special Military Operation.

The event was organized by the All—Russian Public Organization "Union of Pensioners of Russia" and the Russian State University of Social Technologies (RSU Sotstech) with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the "United Russia" Party and the National Center RUSSIA.

"In anticipation of this exciting event, we are entering the home stretch in preparation for the final of the anniversary Computer All-around Championship. It is symbolic that this unique project designed for the older generation, which has no analogues in Russia and the world, is being held at the National Centre RUSSIA, where the most socially significant events have been presented for several years. As for digital literacy, many pensioners have already acquired this skill, and today we are talking about expanding the toolkit and new ways to obtain information. If in doubt, join the project. It will be interesting and informative," said Valery Ryazansky, Chairman of the Union of Pensioners of Russia.

The current Championship brought together participants from all over Russia: 1,200 municipalities from Magadan to Lugansk and from Salekhard to Makhachkala.

"The Computer All-around Championship for pensioners is not just a competition, but a vivid example of how experience, knowledge and modern technologies unite people of all generations. For RSU Sotctech, participation in its organization is a part of our strategic mission: to help everyone, regardless of age, to be confident and independent in the digital world, to fulfill their ambitions. We highly value our long-term cooperation with the Union of Pensioners of Russia — together we are creating a space where the older generation has opportunities for growth, communication and self-realization," said Igor Mikhalev, Rector of the Russian State University of Social Technology.

The social significance of the Championship is reflected in the biographies of the finalists themselves. 43% of them are working pensioners, one in four is a resident of rural areas, and one in five has passed the 70-year age. Almost all of them are active computer users, and 70% are users of social networks. It is not surprising that the official social network of the Championship is "Odnoklassniki", and thanks to the live broadcast organized on its base, thousands of participants of the regional stages will join the final.

On its Anniversary, the Championship reached an international level thanks to participants from all over the world: from Athens to Ulaanbaatar. It is no wonder that not all finalists will be able to get to Moscow. For those who, for some reason, could not personally come to the capital, the possibility of remote competition has been provided. Hints and doping are not the case here, because a special electronic monitoring system equalizes all participants in a computer competition.

"Computer literacy is needed at any age. A modern pensioner solves household and communal utilities’ issues via a computer, makes an appointment to a doctor, interacts with authorities and social services, and gets access to electronic libraries of books, films, and TV series. I am glad that social media and modern technologies allow me not to lose touch with my Homeland, and participating in the final is a great reason to come to my favorite city, Moscow," said 71-year-old finalist Vladimir Piskalev from the Finnish city of Espoo.

In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, veterans of military operations and their military units took part in the Championship. For many, the front-line exploits are now left behind, and the time has come to work in a peaceful life. The Union of Pensioners of Russia's programs aimed at the development of computer literacy among the general population are a good way for military veterans to get used to civil affairs.

"I have a great desire to continue serving my Homeland and my people as a citizen! Our country now is in a particular need of highly qualified specialists, young minds and working youth, because the future of our Mother Russia depends on it!" Maxim, a veteran of the Special Military Operation, comprehensively expressed the general mood.

The finalists will compete in the nominations "The whole world in your pocket" (working with a smartphone), "Healthy lifestyle is a basis of the life longevity" and "80 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War". Special nominations are "The oldest participant", "Participant from a small settlement" and "The best among compatriots" (for those living abroad). Without exaggeration, the whole of Russia is among the fans.

The Union of Pensioners of Russia, which has more than 1.5 million members in 2025, has been active for 30 years in supporting the involvement of older people in social processes. The educational programs created and implemented by the Union are the basis of the Championship.

"Each Championship is a big emotionally involved event for us, the organizers. This is an illustration of the national character of our people at an intellectually mature age, which is characterized by professional and human wisdom, positive thinking, healthy lifestyle and the absence of boundaries of what is possible. I am glad that I know and have the pleasure of working with such people," said Olga Markova, Executive Director of the Union of Pensioners of Russia.

During the final days of the Championship, participants will be greeted by Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Timchenko, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee, Olga Batalina, First Deputy Minister of Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Oleg Salagai, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, representatives of the State Foundation "Defenders of the Fatherland", the federal party project Digital Russia, and by other honorary the guests.

The Union of Pensioners of Russia (SPR) is the country's largest association of senior citizens, established in 1994. The number of SPR is 1.5 million people in 82 regions of Russia (including new territories). Over 1,500 local branches of the SPR are actively involved in shaping social policy (members of the SPR are a part of the Presidential Commission on Veterans' Affairs, more than 300 party’s representatives work in the legislative assemblies of the regions). Since 2017, the SPR has represented Russia in the European Federation of the Elderly (EURAG). In 2019, the EURAG congress was held in Moscow with the participation of representatives from 23 countries.

The organizers of the regional stages of the XV All-Russian Computer All-Around Championship among pensioners (March 1 - June 6, 2025) are the social protection authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation and the regional branches of the Union of Pensioners of Russia with the support of the Social Fund of Russia. And the final stage (June 19-22, 2025) is organized by the Union of Pensioners of Russia, the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation and the Russian State University of Social Technology.

Final participants: 2 people from the region (1 man and 1 woman) — winners of regional selections (men older than 63 years, women older than 58 years old, for special categories of citizen the age requirements are 5 years less). Additionally: military veterans (including the Special Military Operation) can participate in "the Defender of the Fatherland" nomination with a bonus for the team.

In 2025, the Championship is timed to coincide with the Year of Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of Victory, and is being held for the first time in the National Centre RUSSIA.
