The Far East impresses: the second day of the School Students Forum held at the National Centre RUSSIA
Education, career guidance, the tourism and human potential of the Far East – these and other topics became the focus of the second day of the School Students Forum, held at the National Centre RUSSIA. The country’s leading universities from the macroregion continued to present their best practices and advantages of studying to Moscow residents and visitors to the capital.
That day, the Forum brought together school students from the Ivanovo and Vladimir regions. After the business programme and a tour of the interactive exposition, the participants shared their impressions.
"The impressions are very positive. I believe the event is extremely useful – it shows the entire Far East, its unique character and importance for our people, for the Russian nation," said Ivan Koptyakov, a cadet of the Model Military–Patriotic Aviation School "Vysota" ("Height") from Ivanovo.
He said that he had never been to the Far Eastern regions before, but after taking part in the Forum he now wants to visit them: "I was amazed by what has already been achieved in the Far East and what is planned for the future. The infrastructure, the nature and the opportunities – all of it is truly impressive."
Another cadet from the same school, Alexei Aliev, was pleased with the organisation and content of the Forum’s programme. He noted that he would like to visit one of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District to see everything with his own eyes and broaden his horizons.
As part of the Forum’s business programme, each day features presentations by representatives of the Far Eastern regions. They speak about the region’s unique features, traditions and opportunities for living, working and self–development, and present the educational programmes offered by universities and colleges of the macroregion.
In the "video greeting" section, students of Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University, Baikal State University, and M. K. Ammosov North–Eastern Federal University shared stories about their alma maters and invited the participants to apply to their institutions.
The Chairman of the Youth Council under the Representative Office of the Kamchatka region, Alexander Sleptsov, also met with the Forum participants. He spoke about what makes Kamchatka so appealing: "The event was wonderful. The students were lively, asking bright and interesting questions, and their eyes were full of enthusiasm. They really enjoyed it, because they are eager for new knowledge and new ideas, looking for places to go and professions to choose. Kamchatka is, above all, about tourism potential and competitive salaries. It offers a unique combination where one can find a fulfilling job with a good income and enjoy an active lifestyle – tourism, surfing, climbing volcanoes."
After the business programme, participants and guests were given a tour of the interactive exposition about the Far East, currently open at the National Centre RUSSIA. The exposition showcases the unique opportunities for travel, study, work and life that have been created in this macroregion with government support.
The School Students Forum is an annual in–person event for high school students, held in Moscow for the third time. About 1,500 people are expected to take part in the Forum this year.
The exposition "Far Eastern Regions Days in Moscow" is open to visitors from 1 to 30 November 2025, every day except Monday. The exposition can be accessed via the west entrance of the National Centre RUSSIA.
The project "Far Eastern Regions Days in Moscow" is implemented with the support of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy’s Office in the Far Eastern Federal District, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, and the Foundation for the Development of Social Initiatives.
The event was part of the Final Forum of the International Volunteer Corps marking the 80th Anniversary of Victory.
