Ded Moroz from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area crossed the Arctic Circle to get to the RUSSIA EXPO
The day of Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area - Yamal Iri - was held at the International RUSSIA EXPO.
The event began with a solemn procession to the Main Street Stage, where a performance was held.
According to legend, Yamal Iri lives in the place called Lukomorye on ancient maps, and he came into the world together with the birth of the Yamal tundra and the Polar Urals.
The residence of Yamal Iri is located in the village of Gornoknyazevsk near Salekhard. He had to cross the Arctic Circle to get to Moscow for the RUSSIA EXPO.
"A person who makes such a journey becomes stronger. He gains strength of spirit and fortitude", — Yamal Iri told the guests of the Exposition.
The audience saw the national northern show "Yeti", and the youngest guests of the RUSSIA EXPO received sweet prizes for participating in the quest "The Treasure of Ded Moroz", with questions dedicated to the North.
