On December 5, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a solemn ceremony to honor the volunteers who have been participating in its activities since the Centre's opening. The event was dedicated to Russia's Volunteer Day.

"Volunteers are special people for us. We realized this at the RUSSIA EXPO, where we managed to create a warm atmosphere together. Much of this was made possible thanks to you, because volunteer work is always sincere. And now, in the National Centre, we have just as beautiful, kind, and sincere people working. Don’t give up and always keep moving forward. A huge thank you for your work, for the atmosphere you create, and a deep bow to you," said Natalia Virtuozova, Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, addressing the volunteers.

The implementation of the volunteer program at the National Centre RUSSIA is actively supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. A welcoming video message for the volunteers of the National Centre was sent by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Olga Petrova.

"Volunteer Day brings together all those who care, and I am especially pleased that today’s ceremony includes our students who helped the National Centre organize and support events, making them undoubtedly even brighter and more heartfelt. A big thank you to your rectors, your parents, who made you who you are, and of course, to yourselves. I want to wish you to always remain the way you are. And huge thanks to the National Centre RUSSIA for creating opportunities for all of us. Russia is a country of great opportunities. May we all succeed!" — reads the greeting.

In the first month of the National Centre RUSSIA’s operations, 220 volunteers from four Moscow universities participated in the implementation of the volunteer program. The volunteers worked 726 shifts and assisted in organizing 23 large-scale events.

The ceremony honoring these dedicated young citizens was also attended by Alexander Vedekhin, Deputy Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Sergey Sokolov, Deputy Head of the Youth Projects Department of the National Centre RUSSIA.

The National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on a permanent basis. Federal government agencies, state companies, corporations, and regions take part in the Centre’s work.

The National Centre RUSSIA is located at 14 Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment, Moscow. The Centre is open from 10:00 to 20:00 every day except Monday.
