A thematic Youth Day of the Republic of Dagestan took place on 6 September at the National Centre RUSSIA as part of the exposition "Region 2030. Platform of the Future". The event brought together Dagestani students studying at Moscow universities and experts in youth policy.

A key part of the programme was the presentation of opportunities that Moscow offers to young people from the regions. Representatives of the Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy of Moscow spoke about grant competitions and forums of the Rosmolodezh line available to Dagestani students. Deputy Chairman of the Committee Pavel Simakov gave examples of support, referring to the results of a survey on the priorities of the younger generation.

"According to the survey on development trajectories, 51% of young people chose creativity, 50% — a healthy lifestyle, 44% — new knowledge, and 18% — meetings and networking. The capital supports young people in many different ways," said Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy of Moscow, Pavel Simakov.

As examples of Moscow’s successful youth support experience, he highlighted several key initiatives. Among them was the "Youth of Moscow" nomination in the Mayor’s grant competition for socially oriented NGOs: last year, 154 projects won, receiving a total of 157.2 million roubles. He also mentioned the "Moscow Innovator" award, which in 2024 supported 36 high-tech projects and start-ups, as well as the annual Mayor’s grant competition in culture and arts, where 3.8 million roubles in funding is distributed among one hundred projects. In addition, he referred to the Moscow Government Prize: 50 laureates receive 2 million roubles each.

The cultural programme of the day was filled with national colour: young poet Indira Zubairova recited Rasul Gamzatov’s poem "Cranes", while the Moscow–Dagestani folk dance ensemble "Dawn", led by Honoured Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Patimat Khaibulayeva, performed choreographic pieces.

Special attention was given to patriotic education. Guests were introduced to the exhibition of the "Living Pencil" project, where artists depict athletes and participants of the Special Military Operation in a comic book style.

"Our team of artists has long been promoting sport. We have a project called ‘Supersportsman’, where we portray athletes as superheroes. At the Caspian Forum, a new project appeared, which was approved by the Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergei Melikov. Its name is ‘Superhero’. We take real stories of heroes of the Special Military Operation and the Great Patriotic War and portray them as the main characters of comics. For example, we have the story of Ruslan Primov, who performed a feat in the Special Military Operation and was awarded the Order of Courage," explained Gamid Alibekov, head of the "Living Pencil" project.

Registration for guided tours of the exposition "Region 2030. Platform of the Future" is available on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA russia.ru in the "Events" section. Announcements of upcoming events can also be found there.
