Dialogues on science fiction and creation of the future to begin at the National Centre RUSSIA
The dialogues on the future "Science Fiction as a Bridge Between Science and Creation of the Future" will begin at the National Centre RUSSIA on May 21. The new project is being launched by the National Centre RUSSIA in collaboration with the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
The events will accompany the preparations for the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The main theme of the Symposium is the synergy of science, technology and science fiction as a tool for collective future design. The dialogues on the future are intended to sustain public interest in the topic and enrich it with relevant meanings.
The moderator of the project will be Valery Fedorov, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and Director General of VCIOM.
The topic of the first discussion will be devoted to how science fiction shapes public expectations of technology and stimulates scientific and technological initiatives. The audience will learn how science fiction writers use storytelling and visual imagery to design positive scenarios for the development of society.
Speakers will include:
- science fiction writer, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, board member of the Union of Writers of Russia Sergei Lukyanenko;
- Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Nanobiotechnology at MIPT, Head of the "Nanobiomedicine" division at Sirius University, and laureate of the Presidential Prize of the Russian Federation in science and innovation for young scientists Maxim Nikitin.

On May 16, the National Centre RUSSIA will host a presentation of the gastronomic festival of pollock "O!Mega Taste," which will be held for the third time.
