Dinosaur KuZbasik will represent the region at the RUSSIA EXPO
Residents of the Kemerovo region have chosen a name for the dinosaur that will become a symbol of the region at the International RUSSIA EXPO.
The guests will be invited to the stand of the region by a dinosaur-like doll KuZbasik. The name of the Kemerovo region's symbol was chosen by the residents themselves through voting. The choice could be made on the platform "Kuzbass Online". One and a half thousand people gave their votes. The parrot lizard could be called Chebulashka or Takosha. But in the end, most of the voters supported the name KuZbasik: 600 votes were cast in its favor.
"I thank everyone who took part in the project, showed creativity and care. Kuzbass is the birthplace of dinosaurs. For many years scientists have been studying the Siberian Psittacosaurus discovered in Shestakovo", - said Sergey Tsivilyov, Governor of the Kemerovo Region.
By the way, plush toys in the form of KuZbasik will be raffled off among young visitors to the stand.
The International RUSSIA EXPO will be held in Moscow at the VDNH territory from November 4, 2023 to April 12, 2024. Each region of the Russian Federation will present its stand, where it will introduce visitors to the key achievements in various industries. Federal authorities, representatives of large corporations, public associations and foreign countries will also take part in the exposition.
The first island branch of the National Centre RUSSIA will open on Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island, a unique territory on the border between Russia and China.
On Monday, 7 September, the National Centre RUSSIA will have a scheduled maintenance day.
On 6 September, the National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra hosted the first fairy-tale culture festival, "SkazkaFest. Journey Through the Fairy Tales of the Peoples of Russia".
