Discipline of the mind and education of the spirit: champions about the mass exercise at the RUSSIA EXPO

The masssports exercise at the RUSSIA EXPO, organized by gymnast and Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny with the support of other athletes, set a record: 5773 people took part in it.

After the mass exercise at the RUSSIA EXPO, Vyacheslav Fetisov, State Duma deputy and two-time Olympic hockey champion, reminded that sports is a way to cultivate fortitude.

"This should be the meaning today: I got up in the morning, did the exercise, went to do my business. This is the education of spirit in oneself. Our land is strong in spirit. Just about everything starts with morning exercise. As far as I understand, those who participated today, will later bring their friends, their families to the exercise. And there will be another record!" said Vyacheslav Fetisov.

Nikita Nagorny also shared his impressions of the record exercise at the RUSSIA EXPO:

"I was really surprised when there was an opportunity to carry out the exercise. I do it often, but this is the first time for such a large number of people. I think this is a very good indicator to the whole world that sport in our country is one of the most important areas," said the Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics.

Alexei Smertin, ex-football player of the Russian national football team and sports ambassador of the RUSSIA EXPO, spoke about the importance of exercise:

"Exercise is, first of all, a discipline of the mind. Because by exercising regularly, you first of all raise the spirit and vigor of the body, and even the productivity of labour. Through sport, exercise, physical fitness, after all," he said.

Mass exerciseopened the sports season at the RUSSIA EXPO.

The sports season is organized by the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"» and the All-Russian Public Movement to Promote Patriotic and Sports Education of Citizens "Healthy Fatherland". A lot of sporting events await the guests in the future. Mass exercises with the participation of champions will be held together with the regions via teleconference every Saturday at 11:00. In addition, the exposition will host a large number of sporting events. Among them are races, festivals, tournaments, a sports parade and much more. And a sports zone will open next to Pavilion No. 57. A BRICS Games fan zone will also be created at the exposition, where you can cheer for our athletes.
