Reach the top: Young guests of the RUSSIA EXPO are taught rock climbing skills
To visit the largest climbing wall in Russia, you have to go to Komsomolsk-on-Amur. But its mini version is available at the stand of the Khabarovsk region.
Rock climbing is an interesting but challenging sport that requires courage, logic and excellent physical fitness. Young guests aged 7-10 can demonstrate these qualities. You can always see a small "kindergarten" near the attraction.
A seven-year-old girl Amelia decided to try her skills. Her father Alexander was a little nervous watching the equipment and helmet being picked up for his daughter. He worried that the little girl might get scared or that she would lack strength to get to the top.
"She’s never been rock climbing before, but she’s very active, I think she’ll like it. Although, she always lacks patience and concentration, so I’m afraid we won’t get to the top", — Alexander said.
Before sending a child to the "rock", instructors check if the kids have jewelry on their hands. After all, even a child’s plastic ring can lead to serious injury, if it gets stuck on a ledge.
And so Amelia started her movement upwards. The first steps were made with ease, which experienced climbers would envy. The girl confidently pushed off and grabbed the hooks. She overcame a couple of meters quite quickly, but the most difficult part was at the end — it became much more challenging to reach the hooks, so she had to work as hard as she could.
The instructors told her the best way to overcome the last meter, while the father encouraged his daughter, and finally Amelia reached the top. Now everyone could relax — the instructor himself carefully lowered the child down.
"It was a little scary, but I liked it, I want more! Only my hands hurt a little", — shared her impressions the little climber.
The climbing wall is just one of the many entertainments presented at the exposition by regions and corporations. Virtual races, flights and bike rides, games and quests are waiting for guests.
It should be reminded that the International RUSSIA EXPO is held from November 4 to April 12 on the territory of VDNH. The subjects of the Russian Federation, federal executive authorities, corporations, public organizations take part in it. They will present the main achievements of the country in various fields. Workshops, lectures, movie screenings and other events are held for the guests of the exposition.
