On January 14, the Days of the Central Federal District Regions ended at the International RUSSIA EXPO. Visitors to Pavilion No. 75 could see bright and creative presentations of social and economic achievements, immerse themselves in the atmosphere of folk traditions and experience the history of Russia's central regions.

The subjects of the CFD have demonstrated high dynamics of economic growth over the past 20 years, which was clearly presented at the RUSSIA EXPO. It is important to note that the regions developed in a consolidated manner along the lines defined by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The cohesion was expressed in effective and coordinated work at the federal and regional levels of government, as well as in the consistent implementation of state policy.

In 2022, the Central District showed the highest industrial production growth rate in the country - 3.1%. Major infrastructure and economic projects have been implemented. For example, as part of the implementation of presidential instructions and national projects, the Moscow Metro network has grown one and a half times since 2011, and the world's largest Big Circle Metro Line has been put into operation. One of Russia's largest clusters for the production of modern medicines is being formed on the basis of Technopolis Moscow. The Ivanovo region has become a leader in the production of knitted fabrics - it has more than 80% of the Russian knitwear output. The region ranks third in the country in the development of online trade after Moscow and St. Petersburg. A world-class Mercury campus will be built in the Yaroslavl region to train personnel employed in high-tech industries, and School 21 will be opened to train IT specialists.

The district's successes are also noticeable in agriculture and agro-industry. This raises the living standards of citizens, creates new jobs and strengthens the technological sovereignty of the country. For instance, the Orel Nobel Agro Holding annually invests in the development of production, implements advanced personnel standards and social programs. In 2018, the first stage of an ultra-modern elevator in Novosil city for 30,000 tons of grain was commissioned, and in 2021-2023, eight grain warehouses with a total storage capacity of more than 50,000 tons were built; two grain warehouses with a storage capacity of 23,000 tons are currently being completed. The Kursk region ranks second in the CFD in terms of grain and oilseeds production and third in Russia in terms of production of all types of meat. Over the last five years the subject has also achieved 1.8 times growth in GRP and investment, 1.6 times growth in industry and 1.8 times growth in agriculture.

Natalia Lindigrin, Director General of the ANO Institute of Regional Problems, political scientist, noted that the CFD is actively engaged in the urban development. According to the latest rating of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow took the first place, and Kaluga - the seventh as the most comfortable cities in terms of quality of life in Russia. Although it is certainly more correct to compare Moscow to other world capitals. And here it will be in the lead - 49% of its area is occupied by green areas, which makes Moscow the greenest metropolis in the world.

"The bright and informative expositions of the regions of the CFD at the RUSSIA EXPO clearly demonstrate that there are reasons for pride in each of them. A lot of achievements are concentrated in the economic sphere. The Central Federal District's manufacturing industry ranks first in terms of production, providing more than 35% of the country's total output. And agrarians from these regions produce the largest amount of domestic agricultural products - more than 27%",  - said the expert.

EISR expert, political scientist Anna Fedorova emphasized that each region of the CFD is developing large industrial and infrastructure projects that create jobs and increase competitiveness. The largest meat processing plant in Voronezh, an electric car plant in the Lipetsk region, and a polymer processing plant in Tver are just a few examples of new enterprises. The expert drew attention to how socio-economic indicators affect the public perception of how the country is developing.

"One of the indisputable successes of the last two decades is the revolution in people's minds about Russian agriculture and food products. We have grown to love Russian food, we have become proud of it, and the quality has grown simply by leaps and bounds. And in many ways, we should thank the agrarians from the CFD - more than a quarter of the country's agricultural output is produced here. The quality of life in the Central Federal District is growing noticeably. The condition of the road network has improved (as a lover of domestic tourism I cannot keep silent about it). Improvement and quality of the urban environment are also indicators visible to the naked eye. It is important to specifically mention transport connections - jokes about the fact that the metro will run to Tula will soon cease to be jokes, it seems!" - Anna Fedorova believes.

Darya Kislitsyna, Head of the Department for Work with Regions of the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISR), member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, added that the regions of the CFD presented development results and reasons for pride at the International RUSSIA EXPO.

"These are two key meanings, which were very important to competently - substantially, understandably, accessible and beautifully - convey to visitors during the Days of Regions. I think it all worked out well, and an integral public image of the CFD regions was formed. What components does it consist of? High dynamics of economic growth, which became possible due to the competent policy of the President to support the macro-region. The development of industry, hence the contribution to the technological sovereignty of the country and to the improvement of the quality of life. There is a lot to be proud of", - commented Darya Kislitsyna.

In addition, the expert noted that many reasons for the pride of the CFD subjects are associated with industry. At the exposition it was possible to learn, for example, that the Generium company from the Vladimir region is one of the leaders of the Russian pharmaceutical market. And Bryansk Machine Building Plant is the only enterprise in the country that has a large-scale production of mainline freight diesel locomotives.

"The regions of the CFD managed to present at the exposition more than just a general image of the federal district. Each region was able to convey its main priorities and "shticks" to the general public. It was a beautiful balance between the common and the special", - she concluded.

After the completion of the Days of the Central Federal District Regions at the International RUSSIA EXPO, the Industry Days will begin, where it will be possible to learn about the achievements and results of the country's development in industry, agriculture, science and other areas.

The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the duration of the Exposition, guests can look forward to cultural events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. The exposition runs at VDNH in Moscow until April 12.
