Two Ded Morozes from the coldest region of the country — the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) — met with the guests of the Exposition.

One of them, Chyskhaan, is the Yakut spirit of cold, the great Bull of Winter, who sends frost to the earth. He comes to people only in winter time — to celebrate the New Year together.

Chyskhaan is distinguished by an unusual, extremely beautiful costume in national traditions. Chyskhaan’s blue coat is decorated with flashes of aurora borealis, and his high hat is crowned with curved long horns, symbolizing both the bull and the inverted moon.

The second character is Ekhee Dyil, a wizard, the lord of time, who helps those with a good heart. Unlike the winter heroes of other nations, he is present in the lives of Yakutians throughout the year.

The guests of the RUSSIA EXPO saw the performance of soloists of the Buin Khan ethno-dance studio and artists of the Gzhel State Academic Dance Theater.

The audience was offered to take part in quizzes, and those who gave correct answers to questions about Yakutia received gifts.

The series of visits to the RUSSIA EXPO by winter wizards started on November 18 — with the celebration of the birthday of the most famous Ded Moroz, who lives in Veliky Ustyug. On Saturday, December 16, three «grandfathers» from Karelia — Talvi Ukko, Halla and Pakkaine — visited the Exposition at once.
