The cycle of educational lectures with Elizaveta Likhacheva at the National Centre RUSSIA will go on under a new name — "Symbols of Time" and will be expanded with conversations about fine arts, sculpture, photography, fashion and the role of a curator in modern culture. The first event of the updated cycle will be the lecture "Palaces of Russia", which will be held at the NC RUSSIA on June 25.

Art critics will reveal the secrets of building famous residences from ancient royal chambers to the State Kremlin Palace, will talk about the brilliant creators of architectural and park ensembles, whose masterpieces determined appearance of the empire, trace the dialogue of Russian and European architectural traditions.

Special attention will be paid to examples of architecture that are still amazing: the engineering solutions of Peterhof, the Engineering Castle with its aura, and the Winter Palace - a witness of the key events of the Russian history. The lecturers will also touch on the Soviet period — the time of creation of one of the most daring projects — the Palace of Soviets, which was supposed to become a new symbol of the era.

Unique knowledge and little-known facts will be shared by Kirill Posternak, an art critic, senior researcher of the Museum of Architecture named after A. C Shchusev. The meeting will traditionally be moderated by art critic and architectural historian Elizaveta Likhacheva.

The exposition "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA presents completed architectural projects, as well as ideas remaining at the level of concepts. The exposition consists of both own materials of the NC RUSSIA and exhibits provided by museums and private collections from all over the country.
