The two millionth visitor to the RUSSIA EXPO visited Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP
Marat Sabitov from Kazan, who became the two millionth
visitor to the International RUSSIA EXPO, visited the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP
together with his wife Maria. He was presented with a certificate for a tour of
the hydropower plant by the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements
"Russia"», the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and
RusHydro on December 2, 2023. In addition to a private tour and a visit to
Abakan, the two millionth visitor was presented with tickets and a three-day
stay at a local hotel.
During the tour, the couple walked along the crest of the
dam, entered the engine room and museum, and took memorable photos on the
observation deck. The guide accompanying Marat and Maria spoke about the
history of the station's construction, its importance for the country's energy
sector, technical characteristics and features. This gift was symbolic for the
family — Marat works in the energy sector.
"I had heard about the scale of Sayano-Shushenskaya
HPP, but I could not even think that one day we would be here ourselves. When I
saw it both from outside and inside, the feeling was simply incredible. At
that, many stereotypes were not confirmed — knowing that the station was built
back in the 60-70s, I expected to see a lot of things from that time, but
inside, as it turned out, everything is very technological and modern. I was
especially impressed by the electronic control panel," said Marat Sabitov.
Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP ensures reliable operation of the
entire Siberian energy system. Its hydro turbines are the most powerful in
Russia, there are ten of them at the plant. Each of the ten turbine conduits
carries 340 m3 of water per second, which is six railroad tank cars. The word
"RUSSIA" is inscribed on the station's dam — this is the world's
largest inscription with the name of the country. Fifteen graffiti artists
worked for a week to create the inscription, which measures 570 meters long and
52 meters high and is in the colors of the Russian tricolor.
Each of the Exposition's anniversary visitors has already
received a valuable prize. The eight millionth visitor arrived at the RUSSIA
EXPO on March 6 — it was fourteen-year-old Vadim Leizer from Tyumen, who came
with his parents and younger brother. The winner was awarded a certificate for
a family visit to a friendly football match between the national teams of
Russia and Serbia on March 21. Vadim and his younger brother were presented with
two sets of customized football uniforms of the Russian national team.
On March 20, the Exposition welcomed its nine millionth
guest. It was nine-year-old Andrei Batorov. He and his sister and parents are
looking forward to a trip to Baikal accompanied by experienced guides. The
seven millionth guest Alexei Maximov from Volzhsky, Volgograd region, who
visited the Exposition on February 22, received a family trip along the
"Energy of Ladoga" route. The six millionth guest Dmitry Yershov, who
crossed the threshold of the Exposition on February 4, received a trip to
Salekhard for the main holiday of the peoples of the North - Reindeer Herder's
Day.
