Unity of traditions and technologies: Nizhny Novgorod region at the RUSSIA EXPO
Bus manufacturing, handicrafts, IT campus construction and science centers. The Nizhny Novgorod region presented its achievements at the International RUSSIA EXPO.
The region holds a leading position in the country in the field of folk arts and crafts. The total production volume over five years amounted to about 1.5 billion rubles. A world-class Scientific and Educational Center has been opened in the region, and the Innovative Scientific and Technological Center "Quantum Valley" has been created.
An interuniversity IT campus will be built in Nizhny Novgorod, with the capacity to teach seven thousand students. In addition, the Nizhny Novgorod region is a leader in the production of buses weighing up to five tons — about 97% of Russian production in 2022.
"We tried to make the Day of the Nizhny Novgorod region as eventful as possible. Our task is to tell as many people as possible about the potential of the region, its beauty, history, culture and its points of attraction. The exposition space allows us to hold events of various formats — from a traditional wedding ceremony to an opera concert, and to present the most striking projects", — said Governor Gleb Nikitin.
One of the main events of the Day of the Region is a wedding ceremony according to the customs of the Nizhny Novgorod province. These customs include tying the palms with a towel, a blessing on a fur coat, and dowry with the sale of the Bush — a small wedding tree. The cultural program includes a concert featuring Nizhny Novgorod performer of Russian songs Maya Balashova together with the Style Quartet ensemble, performances by the academic choir of Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University and the Uma2rman band, and other events.
The lecture "Come and See: The Feat of Newsreel Cameramen during the Great Patriotic War" took place as part of the "Thursday. Development".
The centre has become the first, unique, and multifunctional exhibition venue in Belarus, operated by the National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo."
On May 8, the audience at the National Centre RUSSIA enjoyed a performance by a combined children's wind orchestra, which launched the festive concert programme.
