05.27

The Open Lecture Hall "Inventing the Future: Ecotourism", an original project of the National Centre RUSSIA, will be held for the first time at the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye on Friday, 29 May. Nature conservation professionals will discuss the creation of new nature reserves and services for tourists, while bloggers will share their experience in promoting the region. Guests of the event will also be able to take part in the "Mosaic of the Peoples of the Far East" programme and listen to a discussion on the use of artificial intelligence in hospitality.

The speakers at the Lecture Hall will include Viktor Surzhikov, Deputy Director of the College of Information and Creative Technologies at Vladivostok State University. Together with the audience, he will reflect on expanding the nature conservation system in Primorye through the opening of new parks and nature reserves. Viktor Bardyuk, Director of the Land of the Leopard National Park, will present new tourism products planned for visitors to the specially protected natural area. Australian educator and columnist Mark Lowe will speak about international experience in environmental education for children.

Primorye bloggers will share their own experience of creating creative and viral videos about the territory. Traveller Kristina Perestoronina will speak about taking part in the Far East — Land of Adventure contest for the best journey across the Far East and the Arctic, and about her path towards conscious ecotourism. Travel blogger Ilya Mamonov, the author of popular videos about Vladivostok that inspire viewers and make them fall in love with Primorye, will devote his presentation to the links between the content industry and travel. Far Eastern Federal University student Frederick Lesika Ramontsho will share his experience of running a blog about life in Vladivostok.

As part of the Lecture Hall’s special programme, guests of the Primorye branch of the National Centre RUSSIA will be able to take part in the "Mosaic of the Peoples of the Far East" quest programme. They will have to complete five stations inspired by the cultures of the Orochs, Mongols, Udege, Nanai and Koreans. Each participant will have an "Ethnographer’s Journal" — a route sheet stylised as a researcher’s field diary.

It should be noted that "Mosaic of the Peoples of the Far East" was created based on the "geographical notes" of the Society for the Study of the Amur Territory and archive materials of the Russian Geographical Society. The aim of this station-based game is to look at ecological tourism as a dialogue with nature and history.

The student debate battle "The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Ecotourism and Hospitality: For and Against" will also be held as part of the Open Lecture Hall "Inventing the Future: Ecotourism".

The Open Lecture Hall "Inventing the Future: Ecotourism" is part of an original project by the National Centre RUSSIA, which premiered on 7 February 2026 in Moscow. The event is designed to bring together leading Russian and foreign experts to develop positive scenarios for the future and maintain dialogue with the global professional community in various areas of public life.

All expositions and events at the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye are free of charge. Follow schedule updates on social media and in the "Events" section on the Centre’s website.
