Expert from Bangladesh to take part in the Open Dialogue at the branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region
Professor, Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Policy
Dialogue (CPD) in Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman will be another international
participant of the Open Dialogue. The expert session will take place on 5
September at the first branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye
region.
In recent years, Mustafizur Rahman’s research has focused on
the macroeconomic indicators of Bangladesh, WTO negotiations and the interests
of least developed countries, as well as regional cooperation and economic integration
in South Asia.
"We believe that trade cannot be free if it is not
fair. Therefore, a system of rules is needed to reflect the new balance of
power, where the countries of the Global South and BRICS can play a leading
role in shaping the rules. <...> Therefore, the architecture of new
institutions — such as the New Development Bank or the Asian Infrastructure
Investment Bank — can provide greater democratic participation," said
Mustafizur Rahman.
On 5 September In Vladivostok, an expert session will be
held within the thematic vector "Investments in Connectivity". The
session "Transformation of Trade and Connectivity Institutions in the New
Reality" will bring together Open Dialogue experts from different
countries, including Russia, India, China, and Indonesia. The speakers will
discuss the development of international trade for the coming decades.
The event will take place at the first branch of the
National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region. The partner of the session will
be the Centre for Cross-Sectoral Expertise "Third Rome".
