St. Petersburg's stand at the International RUSSIA EXPO was included in the list of the best expositions. This was announced by the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko. During the first month of work the exposition of the Northern Capital, located in pavilion 75B, was visited by more than 200 thousand people, 60% of whom were children and young people.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the RUSSIA EXPO Sergei Kiriyenko awarded the outstanding regions for their contribution to the creation of a unique exposition based on the results of the first month of work. He noted that the heads of the regions and their teams had done a lot of hard work to prepare the expositions - in just a few months they managed to create an exposition of a larger scale than the world expos.
The central object of the St. Petersburg exposition is a copy of the Palace Bridge, the spans of which are drawn up to music every hour. The construction is made in 1:43 scale with maximum accuracy. At the entrance portal the guests are greeted by an interactive multimedia ball, which can be controlled by the visitors themselves.
Interactivity is at the heart of the concept of the stand of the Northern Capital. The space is 90% made up of multimedia solutions. A panoramic screen and diode floor add to the immersive effect. Visitors are transported to St. Petersburg streets and embankments, where water flows in rivers and canals, the wind picks up a leaf that has fallen from a tree, spring, summer, fall and winter change each other, a chizhik-pyzhik bird makes wishes come true, and even stone Atlases can come to life and wink.
The work of the stand is divided into 16 thematic seasons - from historical to cosmic. With each of them the content and look of the exposition changes, revealing the versatility of St. Petersburg. During each thematic block there are exciting events: presentations, lectures, workshops, quizzes, prize drawings. Just as tourists can come to St. Petersburg again and again, always discovering it from a new side, so the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO can come to the stand of the Northern Capital repeatedly, each time marveling at the many facets of our city.
"St. Petersburg is actively developing, preserving its unique historical image and at the same time looking to the future. Having conceived the exposition in the concept of "St. Petersburg Cinema", we wanted to show its dynamics and diversity. Over the course of six months, we tell about the development of the city, with special attention to the contribution of the national projects launched by decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin, its history and achievements. By changing the visual appearance of the stand and multimedia content, we show St. Petersburg from completely different sides: ecological, maritime, sporting, hospitable and others. Every guest has an opportunity to be immersed in the unique atmosphere and vibrant life of the city and to start their journey to the Northern Capital already from visiting our exposition," comments Sergey Korneev, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee.
International RUSSIA EXPO is held in Moscow, at VDNH, from November 4 to April 12. 89 regions, federal executive authorities, companies, corporations and public organizations - a total of 131 expositions - take part in it. In total, more than 2 million people visited the exposition in the first month.
