Christmas tree of the Republic of Mari El: A bear on guard and the magic of the vine
Red bears
guard the New Year tree of the republic at the country's main exposition. The
bear is the main element on the region's coat of arms - a symbol of providence
and strength, signifying also the forest character of nature.
The main
craft of the Republic of Mari El - vine weaving - is also represented on the
tree. The craft of making wicker baskets, trunks, and wicker boxes is
widespread among the mountain Mari people living on the right bank of the
Volga.
Stylized postcards with the sights of the republic are also displayed on the fir tree, and large red snowflakes depict characteristic ornaments of the region.
On the Main Alley of VDNH visitors are greeted by 89 Christmas trees, each representing a region of the country with its folk arts and crafts and traditions. And the 90th blue spruce represents the RUSSIA EXPO itself.
Russian fairy tales come to life in colour, fabric and traditional crafts within the space of Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA.
Unity of peoples is not only about holidays and festivals; its nature is far more complex and multifaceted, noted the Head of the Republic of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov.
Heroes today are not only defenders of the Fatherland, but also those who accomplish feats through daily work and service: volunteers, mentors and teachers.
