Gourmet goat cheese, pickle brine gingerbread and natural honey await food enthusiasts at the Farmers Fair
At the International RUSSIA EXPO, you can sample and purchase extraordinarily delicious products from various corners of our vast country. Just visit Pavilion No. 48, where farmers from all over the country present their products. In the upcoming week, from June 18 to 23, try classic and artisanal cheeses, meat and fish products, as well as honey and gingerbread decorated with edible flowers.
Returning to delight guests is a participant from the Altai region under the brand "Altai Cheeses", offering not only tasty cheese but also delicate butter and fermented milk products. From the Chuvash Republic, elite goat milk cheeses will be brought again under the brand "Olga Kosheleva’s Cheboksary Cheese Factory". Visitors can taste over 20 types of handmade cheeses, including soft, blue, semi-hard and hard cheeses, as well as craft cheese candies. Notably, products from Olga Kosheleva's cheese factory have repeatedly won prizes at the "Best Cheese of Russia" competition and won gold at the first all-Russian competition "CHEESE EXPO 2024."
The Belgorod producer "From Cheese to Wine" will present seven types of cheeses made using Italian technology: mozzarella, burrata and stracciatella, ricotta, scamorza, stracchino and caciotta. From the Nizhny Novgorod region, the "Creamy Street Family Cheese Factory" will bring delicious semi-hard cheeses made from cow, goat and mixed milk of varying degrees of maturity, with and without additives (fenugreek, Provencal herbs, chili flakes), and grilling cheese. Guests particularly love the very spicy hard cheese in the shape of small balls coated with black pepper, pink Himalayan salt and garlic.
Honey pairs perfectly with almost all cheeses. You can also sample and buy honey at the Farmers Fair. The "Motorin Family Apiary" and "SPSSK Khvalynsky Garden" from the Saratov region will present natural flower honey.
In addition to honey, you can taste traditional Russian sweets like gingerbread at the fair. "Govorov's Gingerbread Factory" prepares gingerbread and honey cakes according to old recipes. Their assortment includes hand-iced honey gingerbread made according to an old monastic recipe, printed gingerbread made on wooden boards, as well as unique spicy gingerbread and gingerbread made with pickle brine. There is also unique herbal gingerbread, a rare and almost unknown recipe. Aromatic herbs from Radonezh, such as thyme, oregano, St. John's wort, mint, chamomile and others, are added to the gingerbread dough. The gingerbread is made with a berry filling, covered with chocolate glaze, and decorated with dried edible flowers such as Crimean rose, fireweed and cornflower.
