"Energy for People": more than 120 thousand guests took part in the Energy Day events at the RUSSIA EXPO
The Energy
Day was held at the RUSSIA EXPO under the motto "Energy for People".
As part of the business program, experts spoke about the past, present and
future of the Russian power industry, discussed the development of the Fuel and
Energy Complex. Educational, cultural, sports and gastronomic events were
organized for guests and participants. The total number of visitors exceeded
123 thousand people.
Alexander
Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, noted the importance of
the energy industry and the keen interest of the general public in the energy
sector.
"The
Energy Day at the International RUSSIA EXPO gathered on one platform industry
professionals and a large number of young people and families who are
interested in our country's achievements in this area. An extensive
multi-format program attracted a lot of attention of the guests and participants
of the RUSSIA EXPO. Participation in the preparation and holding of the
industry day allowed the leading companies of the fuel and energy complex to
present to a wide audience their latest developments, which our country can be
proud of. Once again we were able to make sure of the unity of the industry
representatives and its technological leadership," said Alexander Novak.
The Energy
Day was opened by Nikolai Shulginov, Minister of Energy of Russia, who
presented state and departmental awards to representatives of the fuel and
energy sector for their contribution to the development of the energy sector.
"The
Russian fuel and energy complex demonstrates success on the world stage, is one
of the leaders in all areas - oil, gas, coal production, electricity
generation. Our industries are working steadily, and we would like to show how
we have been working for the last 20 years, what successes we have
achieved," Nikolai Shulginov said in his welcoming speech.
The opening
ceremony of the industry day also included the launch of three modernized power
units of Gusinoozerskaya, Kostromskaya and Permskaya GRES with a total capacity
of 1390 MW. The Minister of Energy gave the command to start up the power
units.
The Energy
Day program continued with an event timed to coincide with the presentation of
the Keeping the Victory Flame Project and the 80th anniversary of the complete
lifting of the blockade of Leningrad and the liberation of the Leningrad
region. The presentation included a live broadcast from the site of lighting of
the first in 2024 new Eternal Flame and its appearance in real time on the
Keeping the Victory Flame resource (eternalflame.ru). The resource united all
memorials with Eternal Flames and Flames of Memory on an interactive map.
The central
event of the Energy Day business program was the plenary session "Russian
Fuel and Energy Complex: New Opportunities for Development", where, with
the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak, industry
experts discussed in an open format the priorities for the development of
Russia's fuel and energy complex, the achievements of recent years, and
development opportunities in each sector of the fuel and energy complex. The
Energy Day business program continued with expert panels "Electric Power
Industry as a Driver of Economic Growth" and "New Strategies for the
Oil and Gas Complex" with the participation of representatives of the
Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and leading companies of the
Russian fuel and energy complex.
Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation, noted during the plenary session that today the nuclear industry in Russia has three points of support. These are the nuclear weapons complex, nuclear power, and various projects and programs of technological sovereignty.
"The
nuclear industry is one of the youngest on the planet. This year we will
celebrate 70 years of nuclear power - the day when the first nuclear power
plant in Obninsk was launched in the USSR. Today, every fifth light bulb in our
country is lit thanks to a nuclear power plant. We are leaders in the global
market, we build all over the world, we are champions in uranium enrichment,
leaders in uranium reserves and production. And all of our nuclear technology
is sovereign. We continue to develop nuclear technologies and lead in their
export," Alexey Likhachev emphasized.
The Energy
Day program continued in the ATOM Pavilion, where nuclear industry employees
celebrating golden or silver weddings this year were honored. 55 couples from
all over the country celebrated the 25th and 50th anniversaries of married life
in a solemn atmosphere. Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State
Corporation, and Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian
Federation, congratulated the golden and silver jubilarians.
In
addition, during the business program, a masterclass with People's Artist of
Russia Nikas Safronov was held in the Oil Pavilion, which reflects the history
of the development of the domestic fuel and energy complex, and it was attended
by the Deputy Prime Minister. Alexander Novak also talked to children and young
specialists of LUKOIL enterprises in the Moscow region.
Throughout the Energy Day the guests were treated to sports, entertainment, cultural and gastronomic programs, a festival of energy and sports "Charge" with participation of sports and figure skating stars was also held. The Energy Day ended with a festive concert attended by all the guests of the site.

The integration of special military operation veterans into peaceful life and the interaction between regions and municipalities were discussed as part of the Forum "SMALL HOMELAND – THE STRENGTH OF RUSSIA".
The second All-Russian Municipal Forum "Small Homeland – the Strength of Russia" is taking place at the National Centre RUSSIA.
