On June 11, Pavilion No. 19 Atom will host the federal finals of the scientific and educational project "Icebreaker of Knowledge" aimed at finding and supporting talented and gifted children. The event will include an intellectual tournament and awarding of winners.

More than 30 thousand schoolchildren and students of secondary vocational education institutions from all over Russia participated in the fifth anniversary season of the project "Icebreaker of Knowledge". Based on the results of the in-person semifinals, three participants from each federal district reached the finals of the project. They will have to unite into a team and take part in the intellectual tournament Knowledge.Game, as well as present to the jury the team solution to the case task received during the semifinals. The participants of the four teams with the best results will go to Rosatom's Arctic expedition to the North Pole on the nuclear icebreaker "50 Years of Victory". The intellectual partner of the fifth season of the project "Icebreaker of Knowledge" is the Russian Society "Knowledge".

Experts of the nuclear industry, representatives of regional state authorities and public organizations were invited to the jury of the finals: Tatyana Terentyeva, Deputy Director General for Personnel of Rosatom State Corporation, Alexander Bugaev, First Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Maxim Dreval, Director General of the Russian Society "Knowledge", Alexei Fedorov, Head of the Research Group "Quantum Information Technologies" of RQC, Director of the Institute of Physics and Quantum Engineering of NUST MISIS and other honorable guests.

The scientific and educational project "Icebreaker of Knowledge" is aimed at finding and supporting talented and gifted children, developing their abilities and career guidance. Schoolchildren aged 14-16 from all over Russia participated in the project.

In 2024, Rosatom's fifth Arctic expedition "Icebreaker of Knowledge" will take place. It will be timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the nuclear icebreaker fleet. 70 gifted, inquisitive and active schoolchildren will go to the North Pole on the nuclear icebreaker "50 Years of Victory". On board the atomic ship they will be accompanied by famous scientists, experts of nuclear industry, Arctic researchers and popularizers of science.

During the existence of the project, more than 300 gifted schoolchildren — winners of numerous contests and projects — from different regions of Russia have become participants of Rosatom's Arctic expeditions.

The project is organized by the network of Atomic Energy Information Centres (AEIC) with the support of Rosatom State Corporation. The intellectual partner of the project is the Russian Society "Knowledge".
