Festival of Chuvash cuisine on June 15 at the RUSSIA EXPO
On June 15,
the House of Russian Cuisine will host a festival dedicated to the gastronomic
traditions of Chuvashia, in honor of the Akatuy Agriculture Holiday. This is
one of the most important national holidays of the Chuvash people. It is
dedicated to the end of spring sowing. In translation, "aka" means
sowing, "tuy" - wedding. Since ancient times, the Chuvash people have
gathered on this day to congratulate each other on the arrival of summer, join
in a common dance, and sing favorite songs. Men organized sports competitions.
On the day of Akatuy, beer was brewed, cottage cheese casserole
"chăkăt" and the national soup "shurpe" were prepared.

"Green Gold" by the ensemble "Saval" on Chuvash brewing
traditions, lively Chuvash songs, and dances;
Masterclasses
on cooking Chuvash dishes: dessert "Asamla Tere," Chuvash home-brewed
beer, soup "Kakay shurpe" and pie "Khuplu" with clarified
butter, buckwheat porridge with stewed lamb in a wood-burning stove;
Tasting of
culinary dishes and products from Chuvash producers (meat, sausage products,
cheeses, confectionery products).
