The Moscow Fashion Week gala show was held at the RUSSIA EXPO

designers from different regions of the country took part in the gala show that
opened Moscow Fashion Week. The headliner of the event was the artist TIMATI. A
total of 1038 applications from designers from 151 cities of 72 regions of
Russia were received for participation in Moscow Fashion Week this year. The
organizer is the Fashion Fund with the support of the Moscow Government.

Fashion Week has earned the attention and respect not only of the
representatives of the design industry, but also of people not related to it,
said Alexei Fursin, Minister of the Moscow City Government, Head of the Moscow
City Department of Culture. According to him, last year all events of the
fashion week were visited by more than one and a half million people.
"We can
say that Moscow Fashion Week has become a desired event for many regional young
designers. A record number of applications for participation were received -
more than a thousand. The geography is growing - compared to 2022, we have
doubled in size. More than 70 regions, 150 cities across Russia present their
designers. One of the venues of the fashion week is the International RUSSIA
EXPO. All events here are free of charge and open to all comers,"
emphasized Alexei Fursin.
Moscow
Fashion Week unites not only domestic designers, but also participants from
different countries, who are ready to present their products and buy Russian
goods, he added.
The event
opens up opportunities for Russian designers - this includes sales markets,
emphasized one of the participants of the gala show, designer Vadim Merlis.
"Moscow
fashion is authentic. A lot of small local brands have appeared - and people
want to buy things from them. Moscow Fashion Week nurtured designers and showed
them to the country and even the world," said Vadim Merlis. "It's a
good opportunity for an aspiring designer to demonstrate his art and tell
people about it. Moscow Fashion Week is one of the biggest events of this
direction in our country," is certain the creator of WRUSH brand, designer
Daria Yeremeeva.
More than 50 Russian brands from 36 cities will hold their shows at the RUSSIA EXPO from March 2 to March 8. Promising designers from all over the country will present their collections and will have an opportunity to find potential partners and clients. The final gala show will be held on March 8 - students of Russian fashion schools, including Kosygin Russian State University, Moscow Art and Industry Institute, National Institute of Design and METRICS Online Academy of Branding and Design will present their best works. The event will be attended by the ethnic music band OTYKEN, which unites representatives of the indigenous peoples of Russia - Chulym, Ket, Selkup, Khakass and Dolgan.
Moscow Fashion Week was held for the first time on June 20-26, 2022. Its guests were more than 1.6 million people. This time it is held at two venues at once - in addition to the RUSSIA EXPO, the shows are held in the Manege Central Exposition Hall. From March 2 to 7 there will also be a market here where guests will be able to buy clothes, shoes and accessories of domestic brands. The B2B showroom - a professional platform oriented to representatives of the business community - will also be launched at this venue.
The integration of special military operation veterans into peaceful life and the interaction between regions and municipalities were discussed as part of the Forum "SMALL HOMELAND – THE STRENGTH OF RUSSIA".
