Geography of flavours: new sweet arrivals at the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA
Legendary
Russian delicacies, flavours inspired by the North, and premium chocolate — the
Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA invites guests to embark on a
sweet journey and discover new desserts. Each confection here carries a story
of centuries-old national traditions, the craftsmanship of talented
confectioners and chocolatiers, and a deep connection to regional culture.
A special
place in the new range is held by Kolomna pastila — a living legend of Russian
confectionery tradition. The exclusive collection from the Museum-Factory of
Kolomna Pastila in the Moscow region is based on a recipe that is more than two
centuries old. The pastila is handmade using historical 19th-century
techniques. It is made from selected Antonovka apples, egg whites, and sugar.
Free from preservatives and artificial additives, it remains true to the
authentic taste of the past. Its light, airy texture and delicate
sweet-and-sour flavour evoke the atmosphere of old merchant houses and family
tea gatherings, recalling how elegantly sweets were enjoyed in
pre-revolutionary Russia.
The
gastronomic journey continues with the "Hello from Yamal" collection
— Arctic sweets inspired by the nature and culture of the Far North. The range
was developed by craftsmen and ethnographers from the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, giving the sweets a
distinctive regional character. The ingredients include natural northern
berries and herbs: cloudberry, lingonberry, blueberry, and chaga. Unusual
combinations — such as lingonberry with pine nuts, cloudberry with honey, and
blueberry with juniper — reveal the richness of northern flavours and make each
sweet a small discovery. Packaging featuring Nenets ornament motifs and views
of Yamal reflects respect for local traditions, while recyclable materials
demonstrate care for the environment.
For those
who appreciate refinement and contemporary confectionery trends, the Department
Store RUSSIA offers a collection of sweets and chocolate from
"Kraskon", the largest confectionery factory in the Krasnoyarsk
region. The recipes have been preserved since the company’s founding. One of
its most popular products is the "Bird Cherry"
("Cheryomukhoviy") chocolate. This is more than just chocolate — it
is a flavour that embodies Siberia. Bird cherry gives it a distinctive aroma, a
subtle tartness, and a unique depth. Here, classic recipes are combined with
modern approaches to taste and aesthetics. The base is Belgian and Swiss
chocolate, while the fillings are crafted by hand: caramel ganache, nut
praline, and fruit marmalade create a layered and balanced flavour. Particular
attention is given to packaging: elegant minimalism is complemented by elements
of Russian aesthetics, making these sweets a refined gift.
All new
sweet products at the Department Store RUSSIA share several key principles:
authenticity, natural ingredients, aesthetics, and variety. Each product is
connected to a specific region, tradition, or cultural context and tells its
own story. The focus is on local ingredients, time-tested recipes, and careful
production methods. Thoughtfully designed packaging turns the sweets into
ready-made gifts. The combination of historic pastila, Arctic confections, and
modern premium chocolate in one space allows visitors to choose flavours to
suit their mood and occasion.
The final session of the 5th Forum of volunteers and civic activists of the Ural Federal District "Patriots of the Urals" was held at the National Centre RUSSIA in Khanty-Mansiysk.
A unique construction hoarding with media screens will soon be installed around the территории of the National Centre RUSSIA.
