The most precious thing is the life given to us by our great people: "Memory Wall" campaign at the National Centre RUSSIA
Preserving the memory of heroism and of one’s family history is something passed down through generations. The National Centre RUSSIA guide Natalia Didenko placed a portrait of her grandmother, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, on the "Memory Wall".
"She is a great woman in our family. Her determined and strong character is an example for her children and grandchildren. She achieved a great deal in life and raised six children on her own. As a young girl during the Great Patriotic War, she escorted extremely valuable cargo — minerals and food — which was sent to the front. Victory Day was her favourite holiday. She always said that the most precious thing is the life given to us by our great people," Natalia Didenko emphasised.
The "Memory Wall" campaign is timed to coincide with the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It brings together families, schools, volunteer and public organisations — everyone who cherishes the memory of their heroes. On 1 May, memorial stands opened in Russian regions and in more than 20 countries around the world. Portraits of family heroes can be placed at the National Centre RUSSIA from 1 to 10 May.
