The lines that leave no one indifferent, tears in the eyes of the audience and a feeling of pride for their country. Literary and patriotic event Russian Readings was held in Pavilion No. 75 at VDNH.

The Heroes of the Fatherland Day was celebrated at the exposition. There were concerts, awards, light show. And one of the most touching events was a creative meeting with famous artists. The audience heard lines from the works of Robert Rozhdestvensky, Vladimir Vysotsky, Rasul Gamzatov and other authors performed by celebrities.

The first to take the stage was Igor Mirkurbanov, an honored artist of Russia. The actor recited the poem “Requiem” by Robert Rozhdestvensky and seemed to live and feel literally every line of the tragic work. "Let us remember everyone by name, let us remember with our grief... It is necessary - not for the dead! It is necessary - to live!"

Ivan Okhlobystin reads an excerpt from Vladislav Titov's autobiographical story “Despite of All Deaths...” This is the story about a young miner who risked his life to prevent a terrible accident in the mine, but lost both hands. The strength of spirit and the support of loved ones helped him not to give up and live an amazing life.

A tender, tragic and tear-jerking poem about a nurse – “The Death of a Girl” - was read by TV presenter and People's Front ambassador Polina Tsvetkova. Theater and film actor Yegor Beroev paid tribute to the heroes who conquered the Far North. The actor read an excerpt from Anatoly Leikin's story “In the Ice and Snow of Taymyr” and a poem “Hero” by Sergei Mikhalkov.
