A strategic session "Traditional Values and Family with Many Children as National Priorities" was held at the RUSSIA EXPO. It was arranged as part of the Russian Women's Forum "Women: Preserving Traditions - Developing Russia".

In his address to the Federal Assembly on February 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid great attention to the support of families with children, said Olga Batalina, First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Russia.

"The President emphasized that supporting families with children is our moral choice. The family is not just the foundation of society and the state, it is the main moral school for the upbringing of an individual. And our society very much depends on how our children grow up - how they treat their loved ones, their family, and the country. The answers to these questions determine what our country will be like," said Olga Batalina.

According to her, all sociological surveys show that family is the main value. Olga Batalina noted that the results concerning families with many children deserve special attention. In particular, the level of happiness - today and in a year - in families with four or more children is multiple times higher than in others.

"The thesis "More children - more happiness" in this sense is absolutely correct. The current year has been declared the Year of the Family by the President. This is a milestone event for us - in fact, it is the first time that a thematic year is recurrent. Both 2008 and 2024 are united by a common agenda," Olga Batalina emphasized.

The Russian Women's Forum "Women: Preserving Traditions - Developing Russia" is being held at the International RUSSIA EXPO on March 5-6. It was organized by the Federation Council and the State Foundation "Defenders of the Fatherland". Women from all regions of Russia take part in the forum. Its goal is to demonstrate women's participation in achieving national goals and regional development. In addition, all 89 regions will present thematic programs dedicated to women. The forum will include strategic and thematic sessions and round tables, discussions, presentations, expositions, masterclasses, and fashion shows of collections by Russian female designers.
