Leading theatre artists lend their voices to the audio guide for the "Legacy. Theatre. The Greats" exposition
A unique audio guide is available for visitors to the "Legacy. Theatre. The Greats" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA, held under the slogan "A Union of Happy People". It was created by Anton Okoneshnikov, Stage Director at the Alexandrinsky Theatre, recipient of the D. S. Likhachev National Museum Award, and a multiple nominee for the Russian National Theatre Award "Golden Mask". The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
The audio guide does more than accompany visitors through the exposition — it forms an integral part of its artistic concept. Voiced by 13 leading theatre artists, it introduces visitors to the many theatre professions that usually remain invisible to audiences, telling the stories of the people who bring productions to life and giving the visitor route its own distinctive theatrical dramaturgy.
The recording features People's Artists of Russia Sergei Parshin, Anna Aleksakhina, Antonina Vvedenskaya, Natalia Kutasova, Era Ziganshina and Sergei Migitsko, alongside actresses and actors Yanina Lakoba, Gennady Blinov, Yevgeny Sannikov, Sergei Mardar, Lyubov Yakovleva, Olga Belinskaya and Ksenia Olkhovskaya.
The "Legacy. Theatre. The Greats" exposition marks the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia and is dedicated to those who create theatre beyond the stage. The exposition brings together more than 600 exhibits provided by 117 theatre organisations from 29 regions of Russia. The visitor route is designed as a journey through the theatre backstage — from the stage door to stepping onto the stage itself — allowing visitors to discover the work of theatre professionals from the inside.
The project's consultant is Valery Fokin, People's Artist of Russia and President of the Alexandrinsky Theatre.
The "Legacy. Theatre. The Greats" exposition, held under the slogan "A Union of Happy People", is open at the National Centre RUSSIA until 25 September. Admission is free. Advance registration is required for guided tours on the russia.ru website.
