Guests of the RUSSIA EXPO were the first to see a new play from Konstantin Bogomolov's author's project
Guests of
the RUSSIA EXPO saw the first performance of the "Voices of the
Country" project. "Voices of the Country" is an author's project
of Konstantin Bogomolov, realized with the support of the Presidential Fund for
Cultural Initiatives. 12 documentary mono-performances at the RUSSIA EXPO will
tell the stories of ordinary people whose daily work changes our lives for the
better.
In the
production "School of Etiquette" directed by Talgat Batalov, actress
Alexandra Rebenok played Anna Vall from St. Petersburg, an etiquette and
communication coach and employee of the "Three Sisters" early
rehabilitation clinic. Anna is 68 years old, she is a descendant of an old
family of German barons Manteuffel living in Russia. She is one of the most
popular experts on etiquette and business correspondence, an etiquette and
communication trainer at the "Three Sisters" early rehabilitation
clinic. She is featured in Russian TV shows and internet videos gaining
millions of views.
"I
admire Anna Vall's destiny, her life's work and the way she stands up for such
an unfashionable word "etiquette". It was not easy to work on the
role, because it was the first time I existed in such a form - a
mono-performance. Everyone will decide for themselves how it turned out in the
end. Each of the viewers, I am sure, will see and hear their own story,"
said the theater and film actress, leading actress of the Chekhov Moscow Art
Theatre and the Theater on Bronnaya Alexandra Rebenok.
Anna Vall
admitted that she was satisfied with the performance.
"I had
certain concerns before the performance. I wasn't worried that my image would
be distorted, I was worried that no one would be interested in it, no one would
need it and it would all be received indifferently. But the director, the
playwright and everyone who took part in this performance did everything to
make it marvelous! And in the actress Alexandra Rebenok I saw my double. And
this double is better than me," said Anna Vall.
As a result of the project, a book and a documentary will also be published - they will include the stories of all the heroes, their photo shoots and videotaped interviews.
"There are 12 mono-performances in our project, and today's shows are the first ship launched. I hope that the other performances will be as good as this one. In my opinion, this is a remarkable work, subtle and intelligent. This is the kind of documentary theater we dreamed of when we started this project. This is the theater that works with reality in a new and fresh way and gives birth to a wonderful literary text, a great story and great acting. We will continue to perform this play, it should be seen by as many spectators as possible," said Konstantin Bogomolov, artistic director of the "Voices of the Country" project.
