Grand procession with cosmonauts and a star concert — the RUSSIA EXPO celebrated Cosmonautics Day
Cosmonautics Day was widely celebrated at the RUSSIA EXPO.
One of the key events of the day was a grand procession "Time of Russia!
Time Forward!". The event was launched by a dance flash mob "Charge
to the Future", which symbolized the beginning of a new stage of the
RUSSIA EXPO work — it was dedicated to the Future of Russia and its development
prospects.
Cosmonauts, employees of Roscosmos and the RUSSIA EXPO,
representatives of the Movement of the First, Russian Student Squads, artists,
musicians and visitors to the Exposition — more than two thousand people in
total — marched in columns to the Main Stage and released hundreds of balloons
into the sky.
"This is a holiday not only for cosmonauts and not only
for people who work in the space industry. The whole country worked hard to
make this day happen. And there is the labour of teachers, doctors, and those
who created space technology. Therefore, I wholeheartedly congratulate everyone
on this holiday, and I am very pleased that it is taking place here, at the
RUSSIA EXPO. Cosmonautics is truly our achievement," said Sergei Krikalev,
pilot-cosmonaut, executive director for manned space programs of Roscosmos
State Corporation.
On the Main Street Stage, rap-singer MOT, the most
"cosmic" group "Zemlyane", opera singer Ksenia Dezhneva,
choir of the "Movement of the First", residents and show-ballet of
the "Tavrida" art-cluster performed.
During the concert, the guests of the Exposition were
addressed by cosmonauts directly from the Earth's orbit! Oleg Kononenko,
Nikolay Chub and Alexander Grebenkin congratulated the Exposition on the
beginning of a new stage and all those gathered — on the Cosmonautics Day.
"As cosmonauts, we know that the path to the stars is
sometimes difficult and unpredictable. But believe me, every step you take
brings you closer to new horizons and opportunities. And the most important
thing is in the unity of our people. Only together and united we will achieve
new victories," said Alexander Grebenkin.
The National Centre RUSSIA reminds everyone that registration for the video essay contest "Dreams of the Future".
