Music knows no borders: it connects cultures so deeply that what is distant becomes close, and different souls begin to resonate in a single rhythm. This exactly was the spirit of the gala concert "BRICS Melody" at the National Centre RUSSIA, where performers from nine countries spoke to the audience in the universal language of sound. Sharing his impressions after the performance was laureate of the World Daf Festival, Reza Dezaipur from Iran.

"I would like to say that I am already Russian — my soul is Russian. I am from Iran, but now my soul is also Russian. Thank you very much!" said Reza Dezaipur.

The daf is an ancient percussion instrument widely spread in the Middle East, distinguished by its deep, low sound combined with the ringing of metal rings.

"BRICS Melody" is an international music project that brings together performers playing traditional instruments from the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Egypt, Iran and Indonesia). Its aim is to preserve and develop traditional musical culture, strengthen international humanitarian cooperation, and promote cultural dialogue between the BRICS countries.
