The National Centre RUSSIA offers a children’s playroom for its youngest visitors. It is located on the first floor of Pavilion No. 7, next to the Gastronomic Rows. Here, children aged 5 to 12 can spend time in a fun and meaningful way.

"Children here not only play, but also take part in themed workshops — they make crafts and draw. Recently, we had a day dedicated to marine life: the children made fridge magnets out of foil, featuring dolphins, whales, orcas and fish. Then they took them home and gave them to their parents, grandparents," said Anastasia Grankova, an animator at the children’s playroom at the National Centre RUSSIA.

Young guests can enjoy a maze, a ball pit, and a slide.

"My children have been to many kids’ areas — you could even say they’re spoiled in this respect — but they really liked it here at the National Centre, they were very happy. The animators managed to get them involved and held a drawing workshop," said visitor Nadezhda Khantayeva.

The National Centre RUSSIA recently held a drawing competition. Children who visited the expositions "Journey Across Russia" and "The Birth of Scale," as well as those who came to events or to the Gastronomic Rows with their parents or relatives, were invited to draw the Centre’s symbol — a lion.

"Even though we gave a common task, all the drawings turned out very different. Each child added a part of their own life. For example, some lions were playing football or musical instruments. One of our young visitors is into hockey, so he drew the Centre’s symbol holding a hockey stick and standing on ice," said Oksana Morozova, a staff member at the children’s playroom at the National Centre RUSSIA.

The best drawings now decorate the walls of the playroom. The animators note that all visitors are welcome to draw themselves — and those pictures will also be hung up in the play space.

New children’s merchandise featuring the lion cub is now available at the National Centre RUSSIA’s department store, located on the second floor of Pavilion No. 7. The collection includes bright T-shirts with prints, two types of hoodies with thermal printing that keeps the colours even after repeated washing, and stylish caps with adjustable fastenings.

The children’s playroom and the Department Store at the National Centre RUSSIA are open daily, except Mondays, from 10:00 to 20:00.
