The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is taking place in Russia from 18 to 21 June. Among the participants is the Italian writer and publicist Roberto Quaglia, the winner of the title of the best science fiction writer in Europe. He noted the importance of the SPIEF as a space where the architecture of the future world is being formed.

"There are places in time and space where the future is being created. This is one of them. A new multipolar world is being born today, with new connections, centers of power, and initiatives. The economy plays a crucial role here, and that is why the forum in Russia is of particular importance," said Roberto Quaglia.

One of the main events of the first day of the SPIEF was the session "Shaping a new platform for Global Growth", which opened the business programme. It was organized to folow-upthe Open Dialogue at the National Centre RUSSIA. The moderator was Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. The discussion was attended by leading experts from Russia, Cameroon, Spain, Azerbaijan and Canada, as well as the authors of the best essays for the Open Dialogue.

The experts discussed tectonic shifts in the global system, Africa's potential as a center for future economic development, demographic challenges and the role of advanced technologies. Special attention was paid to the topic of cultural foundations of economics and social responsibility of business. As Maxim Oreshkin noted, an open and meaningful dialogue is a necessary condition for developing sustainable solutions.
