Ivan Girev and Mark Petrovsky held a mass exercise at the RUSSIA EXPO
On June 15, a traditional mass exercise was held on the main
stage of the Exposition. It was held by Ivan Girev, swimmer, silver medalist of
the Olympic Games and world championships, European champion, and Mark
Petrovsky, Russian and world boxing champion. The training was held within the
framework of the project "Marathon of Exercises" of the public
movement "Healthy Fatherland". The organizers are the RUSSIA EXPO and
the All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Fatherland".
The Sakhalin, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kaluga and Leningrad
regions, as well as the Kamchatka region and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area
joined the exercise via video link. Residents of these regions took to the
streets and squares of the cities and performed exercises, joining the "Marathon
of Exercises" at the International RUSSIA EXPO.
"The main feeling I experienced after the exercise
session is that today I gave people a charge of vigor, which will be enough for
some people for the rest of the day, and for others — even for a longer time.
It could have encouraged people to start exercising. Holding mass exercises is
a wonderful initiative. It is great that they are held on such a large
site," said Ivan Girev.
"At such exercises people get acquainted with a lot of
different athletes — and this is a big step in the development of children's
sports. They need to be held more, en masse — and then people will bring their
children to sports. Healthy strong youth is a strong Russia," Mark
Petrovsky added.
At the end of the training, the athletes were presented with
a special limited-edition medal "Sports Russia". It can be received
by every visitor to the Exposition. On June 29, those who collected five
autographs of the athletes will receive their own medal.
Within the framework of cooperation, the RUSSIA EXPO and the
All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Fatherland" organize a series of
mass events. Warm-ups with the participation of national and world sports stars
take place on the Main Street Stage of the Exposition.
Young participants of the workshop "Modelling — a Prototype with Your Own Hands," held on May 31 at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The history of Russian architecture, bold concepts, and Soviet urban planning projects realised across the globe were presented to delegations of the exposition on May 31.
The award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian video essay contest "Dreams of the Future" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on June 1, International Children's Day.
