Abundance, crafts and the spirit of hospitality: "INNOPROM. Central Asia" starts tomorrow
The International Industrial Trade Fair "INNOPROM. Central Asia" will open on 20 April in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The National Centre RUSSIA will take part in an international event abroad for the first time and will present one of its flagship projects — the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA.
The stand will feature products by domestic manufacturers from different regions of the country, from Orenburg down shawls to leather goods of the peoples of the North. The stand of the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA will be dedicated to the image of merchant culture — a symbolic interweaving of cultures and peoples. The design of the space — from decorative shutters and a "tiled" roof to ornaments and natural materials — will convey the richness and diversity of the cultural heritage of Russia’s regions. It will also emphasise the closeness of the traditions of Russia and Uzbekistan.
A special focus will be placed on the theme of abundance and hospitality. Guests of the stand will be presented with the best products by domestic manufacturers: porcelain and crystal, textiles and accessories, home décor, cosmetics and sweets. In total, products by more than 50 Russian brands from different regions of the country will be showcased. Among them is a special collection of clothing featuring quotations from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
The central place in the exposition will be occupied by an exclusive roly-poly toy, the decoration of which is based on traditional Uzbek costume. This symbolic image will combine historical motifs, folk art and contemporary design, reflecting the key idea of the Department Store — a dialogue of cultures through objects.
The space of the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA will host a series of events dedicated to regional crafts and traditional industries of Russia. A business programme is also planned, including the panel discussion "Dialogue of Generations: A Fashionable Trend towards tradition". The National Centre RUSSIA will act as a partner of the event. Participants will discuss how cultural identity influences product competitiveness, the export potential of tradition-based goods, and how they can be used to build international dialogue.
