"Geography Lessons" is an exposition you can visit more than once — Stanislav Drobyshevsky
Anthropologist and Associate Professor at Lomonosov
Moscow State University Stanislav Drobyshevsky visited the new exposition
«Geography Lessons» at the National Centre RUSSIA and explained how
educational projects help fill knowledge gaps and offer a fresh
perspective on our planet.
«I have wonderful impressions, the exposition is outstanding.
I would like to go through it again on my own and
see everything we did not have time to cover during the tour. Because
it is impossible to take in the entire exposition
in an hour and a half," said Stanislav Drobyshevsky.
The scholar emphasised that educational projects such
as «Geography Lessons» are an essential part of modern society.
In addition, in his view, the exposition is designed for the
widest possible audience. Stanislav Drobyshevsky was particularly impressed
by the hall dedicated to Russia’s natural wealth — rivers,
lakes and forests — as well as its visual design.
«Geography Lessons» is a large-scale project of the National Centre
RUSSIA. It is a journey through the centuries: from ancient
scrolls to digital maps, from the first geographical discoveries
to the exploration of space. The space of the National Centre
RUSSIA brings together unique cartographic treasures from the
country’s leading collections, including the Russian State Library, the
Russian Geographical Society, the archives of the Ministry
of Defence, and major universities and research centres.
