Music video for Sergei Trofimov's song Motherland was filmed at the RUSSIA EXPO
Dozens of
performers took part in the recording of the music video for the song
Motherland by Sergei Trofimov. These are visitors to the RUSSIA EXPO from
different corners of our country, who underwent a special casting.
The video
was also filmed at the exposition. The organizers noted that they prepared a
new clip for all Russians as a gift for Christmas.
The series
of such videos under the general title Songs of a Great Country was launched by
the team of the #MUSICTOGETHER project headed by producer and musician Timur
Vedernikov with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives
and the Rosatom Territory of Culture program.
"I
have been singing the song Motherland by Sergei Trofimov practically since its
release at all my concerts. In my opinion, it is one of the most poignant
modern songs about Russia, about our Motherland, and Sergei Trofimov is one of
the best songwriters of our time. When we were choosing songs for the project,
it was absolutely obvious to me that we should sing this song with the whole
country, because everything it sings about is our Motherland", - said Timur
Vedernikov.
About 300 people took part in the casting for the shooting of the video. Several singers and musicians were selected from them to star in the clip. They are residents of Moscow, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Obninsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Birobidzhan, Kirov, Barnaul, Voronezh, Syzran, Kaliningrad and other cities.
Among them there are participants of the duet Yasti Mikhail and Valentina Yasybash, singer Alexander Chateau, soloist of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after Alexandrov Maxim Maklakov, vocalist Inna Kameneva, poet Pavel Pikovsky, violinist from Armenia Edgar Hakobyan, balalaika player Elena Vorfolomeeva, accordionist Valery Syomin, soloist of the Sakhalin Philharmonic Polina Pivovarova, as well as the Celebration Choir of the Danilovsky Monastery and a string quartet from the Gnessin School of Music.
This video is already the third in the series. The first was a video for the song I Will Never Forget My Friend If I Befriended Him in Moscow, which was also filmed at the International RUSSIA EXPO. This song was first performed in the cult Soviet movie They Met in Moscow.
On May 8, from 16:00 to 17:00, the National Centre RUSSIA will host a lecture titled "Come and See: The Heroic Work of Cinematographers during the Great Patriotic War" as part of the project "Thursday. Development."
The event was held as part of the programme "War Stories Come to Life: New Russian Series for the 80th Anniversary of Victory," prepared by the Institute for Internet Development (ANO "IRI").
In the third episode, the podcast guest was Ivan Bagramyan – grandson of USSR Marshal, twice Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Khristoforovich Bagramyan.
